Manhart’s Lancia Delta Integrale: $144k Hot Hatch Classic, 370 HP

Manhart Unveils Modified Lancia Delta Integrale 16V with Increased Power and Upgrades

Manhart, a renowned tuning company, has recently unveiled its first-ever Lancia tuning project, a modified Lancia Delta Integrale 16V. This one-off vehicle boasts a range of upgrades including increased power output, suspension and braking enhancements, a new livery, and a re-upholstered interior.

Visual Makeover

Manhart has paid homage to the iconic design of the performance-focused Delta by limiting visual changes to a new matte green shade combined with red and gray stickers. The tuner has retained the original Lancia emblems while adding “Manhart” and “Integrale 400” lettering on the tailgate. The addition of 17-inch alloy wheels by OZ Racing perfectly complements the rally-bred character of the Integrale.

The sporty bodykit and adjustable rear spoiler, characteristic of the Delta Integrale, have also been included in the modifications. Smoked taillights and front indicators further enhance the vehicle’s overall aesthetic appeal. Inside the cabin, Manhart has re-upholstered the seats and door cards using a combination of leather and Alcantara. The vintage instrument gauges and Sony cassette player on the dashboard have been retained, maintaining the classic charm of the vehicle.

Impressive Performance

The donor vehicle, registered in 1990, has covered 57,500 km (35,729 miles). However, the engine has been rebuilt with a series of modifications, resulting in an impressive power output. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine now produces 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS), thanks to upgrades such as forged pistons, H-Shaft connecting rods, new camshafts, a new turbocharger, a Bosch fuel pump, and a Group N air intake. This power output is comparable to that of modern hot hatches and represents a significant increase over the stock Delta Integrale 16V, which had 197 hp (147 kW / 200 PS).

The power is transmitted to all four wheels through a reinforced 5-speed manual gearbox and the original four-wheel-drive system. To complement the increased power, Manhart has also upgraded the suspension to a new KW coilover setup and installed larger brakes on both axles. These enhancements modernize the handling capabilities of the vehicle, allowing the driver to fully harness the extra power.

Limited Edition and Pricing

The Lancia Delta Integrale 16V Manhart 400 Limited 01/01 is a one-off creation by Manhart. With a price tag of €129,900 ($144,684), it may seem steep for a hot hatch from the ’90s. However, considering the rally heritage and the extensive modifications, it is still significantly more affordable than the Integrale restomod by Automobili Amos.

In Conclusion

Manhart’s modified Lancia Delta Integrale 16V is a testament to their expertise in tuning and customization. The visual makeover respects the iconic design of the Delta while adding a touch of modernity. The increased power output, suspension upgrades, and improved braking system enhance the vehicle’s performance capabilities. With its unique features and limited edition status, this modified Lancia Delta Integrale 16V is sure to attract attention from car enthusiasts and collectors alike.
