F1-Inspired Mercedes-AMG GT ‘Motorsport Collectors Edition’ Celebrates AMG’s Losing Streak

Introduction

Mercedes-AMG is honoring its lackluster performance in this year’s F1 Championship with a special edition version of the AMG GT coupe. The limited edition “Motorsport Collectors Edition” pays tribute to the team’s failure and features unique design elements inspired by the F1 cars.

Key Features

  • Limited to 200 units
  • Based on the 603 hp 63 Pro model
  • Hand-painted stars and F1-inspired livery
  • Neon detailing on exterior and interior

Design

The Motorsport Collectors Edition is based on the 63 Pro 4 Matic+ model, a track-ready variant of the GT sports car. Each car features a unique livery inspired by AMG’s Petronas-sponsored F1 cars. The design includes hand-painted stars, bright stripes in Petronas’ aquamarine color, and neon detailing on the exterior and interior.

Performance

The special edition retains the same 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine used in other GT models. However, due to its basis on the GT Pro, the Collectors Edition produces 603 hp, compared to the regular GT 63 4Matic+’s 576 hp. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 197 mph.

Pricing and Availability

Mercedes-AMG has not disclosed the pricing for the Motorsport Collectors Edition. However, it is expected to cost at least £180k/$200k. The limited edition is restricted to 200 units, and it is unclear if any have been pre-sold.
