Facelifted Genesis GV70 Electrified: Spy Shots and Updates
Spy photographers have captured images of the facelifted Genesis GV70 Electrified testing in Europe.
Genesis has been raising our pulses recently with the teased introduction of its Magma performance sub-brand, but that’s not all the company has been working on. It’s also in the process of updating its existing luxury-focused lineup, including the GV70 Electrified seen here.
Changes and Updates
- The EV version of the crossover gets the same updates already confirmed for the ICE GV70 back in April.
- Changes include new lights and bumpers and a wide, 27-inch digital display.
Or not seen here, because, as per usual for any Hyundai Group prototype, this test car is hiding under a mountain of black nylon disguise, with various foam blocks added underneath to try to keep its secrets intact until launch time.
Exterior Updates
The facelifted GV70 Electrified gains some subtle exterior updates including a new set of headlights, a modified grille, and a reshaped bumper with larger air intakes. Rear styling tweaks are less obvious, but the turn signals are now integrated into the taillights and new alloy wheels have been added.
Interior Updates
The biggest changes coming to the Electrified take place inside the cabin. Genesis has fitted a 27-inch combined gauge cluster and infotainment screen that stretches almost two-thirds of the way across the car. Touch-sensitive buttons on the console control the climate settings and there’s a new steering wheel. The Sport package includes a flat-bottomed steering wheel, rear diffuser, dark chrome exhaust tips, new 21-inch wheels, and a unique grille pattern.
Improvements and Expectations
Genesis is expected to make improvements to the driving range of the GV70 Electrified. The current EV model has a poor driving range, but upgrading the battery could significantly increase it. The facelifted G80 Electrified sedan recently received a battery boost, so there is hope for the GV70 Electrified as well.
Release Date
The facelifted GV70 Electrified is expected to have its global debut in the next couple of months and will arrive in North America around the same time as the ICE car.
