The Next Generation of Aston Martin’s Flagship

Aston Martin is set to redefine the V12-engined DBS grand tourer, transforming it into a true supercar that stands apart from its V8-engined Vantage and DB12 siblings. This reinvented DBS will lead the way in Aston Martin’s revamped sports car lineup, following the successful replacement of the DB11 with the DB12 and upcoming reinventions of the Vantage and DBX SUV.

Powerful Performance and Distinct Character

The DBS replacement is expected to feature Aston Martin’s own 5.2-litre V12 engine, delivering impressive power and performance. With a potential power output surpassing the 759bhp of the final-edition DBS 770, this flagship supercar will rival Ferrari’s upcoming 812 Superfast replacement. Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, has confirmed that the DBS replacement will be “completely different” from both the DB12 and the Vantage replacement.

A Return to Performance

Aston Martin aims to reinforce its sporting prowess and heritage as a performance brand. The focus on performance as a pillar of the brand is critical, according to Aston Martin’s President and Group CEO, Tobias Moers. The company plans to bring power levels that give their cars the edge, ensuring each front-engined model has its own distinct character and capabilities.

Aston Martin’s Commitment to V12 Engines

V12 engines are synonymous with Aston Martin and continue to evoke a strong emotional connection with customers. Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin, has expressed the belief that there is still room for a V12 in their sports car generation beyond the current DBS. The DBS replacement is expected to exceed 800bhp, making it Aston Martin’s most powerful pure-ICE road car to date.

Distinctive Styling and Enhanced Performance

The DBS replacement will feature a comprehensive chassis overhaul, building on the success of the DBS 770. With uprated dampers and increased rigidity, the supercar will offer improved cornering performance and a broader scope of ability on the track. The styling will emphasize its flagship status, drawing inspiration from Aston Martin’s track-bred range-toppers with carbon fiber bodywork elements, extensive aerodynamic packages, larger intakes, and bigger brakes.

A New Era Inside and Out

In addition to its enhanced performance, the DBS replacement will showcase Aston Martin’s new self-developed cockpit design. This design will be rolled out across Aston Martin’s next generation lineup, providing a cohesive and modern interior experience.

As Aston Martin continues its transformation, the DBS replacement represents a new era of supercars that combine power, performance, and distinctive character. With its V12 engine, enhanced chassis, and striking design, this flagship model will solidify Aston Martin’s position as a maker of top-tier sports cars.
