Nio’s latest electric vehicle, the 2024 ET7, has achieved remarkable results in real-world range tests in China. The vehicle was able to cover distances of 650 miles, 660 miles, and an impressive 665 miles on a single charge, thanks to the innovative semi-solid state battery technology it is equipped with.
Enhanced Performance and Efficiency
The new 150 kWh battery pack in the Nio ET7 offers the same size as a traditional 100 kWh battery pack but promises to deliver more range, weigh less, and improve overall efficiency. This breakthrough in battery technology has allowed the ET7 to set new standards in long-distance driving capabilities.
Real-World Range Tests
Nio conducted three separate range tests with the ET7, showcasing its exceptional performance. The tests included journeys from Shanghai to Xiamen covering 650 miles, Beijing to Hefei covering 660 miles, and Kunming to Zhanjiang covering the full 665 miles on a single charge.
Impressive Specifications
During its longest drive, the Nio ET7 carried 441 lbs of cargo, ascended 6,151 feet, reached a top speed of 73 mph, and maintained an average speed of 52.0 mph. The journey took the vehicle 12.8 hours to complete, demonstrating its endurance and efficiency.
Future of Battery Technology
The semi-solid state batteries used in the Nio ET7 represent a significant advancement in battery technology. By storing 150 kWh of energy in a compact package that weighs only slightly more than traditional lithium-ion batteries, these batteries offer the promise of lighter and more efficient electric vehicles.
Pre-Orders and Delivery
Following the successful range tests, Nio has opened pre-orders for the 2024 ET7 starting April 16. The official announcement of all specifications is scheduled for April 25, with deliveries set to begin on April 30.
