Nissan Raises Armada Price for 2024 Model Year

nissan hikes armada price tag for 2024

The Nissan Armada, a popular jumbo-sized SUV, will have a higher starting price for the 2024 model year. However, this price increase cannot be solely attributed to inflation. Instead, Nissan has decided to discontinue the relatively low-volume base trim.

Trim Walk and Pricing

Starting in 2024, the Armada will have an entry-level price of $55,450 plus destination fees for the two-wheel drive SV trim. This is approximately $5,000 more than the previous S trim, which was likely only a marketing creation and rarely found on dealer lots. While the headlines may focus on the price hike, this trim adjustment makes more sense for a vehicle like the Armada.

All three trims – SV, SL, and Platinum – are available in both two- or all-wheel drive options, catering to buyers in the southwest who require four driven wheels. The Monroney prices for the SL and Platinum trims are $59,270 and $67,520 respectively. Adding 4×4 capability increases the price by $3,000 regardless of the selected trim. Additional options include second-row captain’s chairs and the Midnight Edition package.

Performance and Engine

Despite its slightly awkward proportions, the body-on-frame Armada is capable of towing up to 8,500 pounds when properly equipped. However, some critics argue that it doesn’t make the best use of its cabin space compared to its rivals. Under the hood, the Armada is powered by a robust 5.6L V8 engine, delivering 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. It’s worth speculating about the future of this engine and what will power the next generation of the Armada or its successor.

Availability

The 2024 Nissan Armada is expected to arrive at dealerships around the same time as the holiday season, making it a potential gift for SUV enthusiasts.
