Nissan Unveils Four New Electrified Models at 2024 Beijing Auto Show

Nissan is set to introduce five new electrified models in China by 2026, with four of them showcased as concepts at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. These models include the Epoch sedan and Epic SUV, both featuring fully electric powertrains, while the Evo sedan and Era SUV are plug-in hybrids.

Local production of these models will be handled by Dongfeng, with a focus on high-tech interiors and AI-powered virtual assistants.

The Nissan Epoch Concept is a sleek, fully electric sedan designed for urban commuters, equipped with advanced AI technology and a virtual assistant that can recognize emotions.

On the other hand, the Nissan Epic Concept is an electric SUV tailored for adventurous city couples, offering autonomous driving capabilities and serving as a mobile power source for outdoor activities.

The Nissan Evo Concept, a plug-in hybrid sedan, targets family weekend getaways with its aggressive design and advanced safety features. The interior boasts a Tesla-style infotainment display and AI-enhanced personal assistant.

Lastly, the Nissan Era Concept is a plug-in hybrid SUV designed for young professionals who view their car as a second home. It shares design elements with the Epic Concept but features a more rugged appearance and is equipped with Nissan’s e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system.

These four concepts are expected to enter production by 2026 as part of Nissan’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Chinese market. The company aims to increase its annual sales in China by 200,000 units by 2026, aligning with its global growth strategy outlined in “The Arc” business plan.

Nissan’s “Excitement by Ni” campaign and partnerships with leading companies for AI development further demonstrate the brand’s dedication to innovation and competitiveness in China’s evolving automotive landscape.
