NJ Driver Foils Carjackers Attempting to Steal Bentley Bentayga

Attempted Carjacking of Bentley Bentayga in New Jersey

Recently, three individuals tried to steal a Bentley Bentayga in New Jersey but were unsuccessful due to the driver’s brave resistance. The incident was captured on video in a parking lot, showing the moments leading up to and following the attack. Despite increased police patrols in the area, the suspects are still at large.

Attack at Grocery Store Parking Lot

The son of grocery store owner Kaushik Patel was the target of the attempted carjacking in his own business parking lot. As he parked the luxury SUV and opened the driver’s door, three assailants approached from behind and launched their attack.

Two of the attackers targeted the driver from the driver’s side, while a third tried to enter from the passenger side. Despite putting up a fight, the driver was eventually pulled out of the vehicle by the assailants. However, to their surprise, the owner’s son had the key, rendering their efforts futile.

Repeat Offense

This was not the first time the young man had encountered carjackers. Previously, they had stolen a Mercedes G-Class he was driving. Kaushik Patel expressed his initial fear upon seeing the video but was relieved to hear that his son was safe with only minor scratches.

Authorities are actively searching for the suspects and have increased police presence in the area. Mayor Sam Joshi mentioned the deployment of over 80 license plate readers and emphasized the importance of vigilance when parking a car to avoid becoming a victim of such crimes.

Staying Safe and Vigilant

Incidents like these serve as a reminder to always be aware of one’s surroundings, especially when parking a vehicle. Criminals may go to great lengths, even following individuals home to carry out attacks in driveways or garages. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Edison police department detective bureau at 732-248-7543.
