Polestar Unveils Concept BST: A Glimpse into the Future of Motorsport

Introduction

Polestar has recently introduced the Concept BST, a track-focused two-seater that is based on the upcoming 6 sports car. This new concept hints at a future range-topper that is honed for motorsport performance.

Goodwood Festival of Speed Unveiling

Unveiled at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Concept BST is essentially a reworked version of the supercar-baiting 6 sports car. The new concept features a removable roof, vented bonnet, front splitter, large rear wing, beefed-up wheel arches, and a wider track for enhanced performance.

Design and Features

The Concept BST sits on 22-inch alloy wheels and is the second Polestar model to carry the BST branding. It follows the special-edition 2 BST Edition 270, known for its lower ride height and adjustable dampers. The new concept retains the bonded aluminum unibody platform of the 6 sports car.

Powertrain and Performance

While official powertrain details have not been released by Polestar, it is expected that the Concept BST will feature the same 875bhp and 663lb ft dual-motor, four-wheel-drive system found in the 6 sports car. This system, shared with the upcoming 5 saloon, utilizes an 800V architecture for fast-charging capabilities.

Future Production

Although Polestar has not confirmed any production plans for the Concept BST, CEO Thomas Ingenlath hinted at the possibility. He described the new concept as a demonstration of how the BST formula could be applied to future models in the Polestar lineup. The production version of the 6 roadster has already sold out all 500 units and made its dynamic debut alongside the Concept BST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
