Polestar Synergy: Unveiling an Electric Supercar Vision

Polestar Reveals Synergy Concept: A Fusion of Performance, Sustainability, and Nature

Polestar, the renowned electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has unveiled its latest creation, the Synergy concept. Dubbed a “fantasy supercar,” the Synergy concept is the result of a design contest that brought together three winning models. Displayed at the prestigious 2023 Munich Motor Show, the Polestar Synergy showcases a perfect blend of performance, advanced technology, sustainability, and nature-inspired design elements.

The Synergy concept emerged from a pool of 600 contest entrants, which were narrowed down to ten finalists. Ultimately, three winners were chosen, with two hailing from France contributing to the exterior design and one from China leading the interior design efforts. These talented individuals collaborated closely with the Polestar design team for six months to refine and finalize the concept’s design.

Measuring 1.07 meters tall and 4.65 meters long, the Polestar Synergy boasts an imposing presence. Its exterior design draws inspiration from a hammerhead shark, exuding both “emotional durability” and “technical upgradability.” The concept features striking wheel arches, a prominent front splitter, and a dramatic rear lightbar that adds to its aggressive aesthetic.

Inside the Synergy concept, a single sports-style seat takes center stage. The interior is performance-oriented and equipped with a racing harness, a digital visor display, and multiple small digital screens throughout the cabin. These screens provide essential information such as battery charge levels and outside temperature. The traditional dashboard has been replaced by a large “floating” digital display, while the yoke-style steering wheel incorporates its own digital display.

Maximillian Missoni, Polestar’s design boss, expressed his pride in the collaboration between the winners and the Polestar design team. He highlighted the exposure and opportunities that this project provides for young designers at the start of their careers. The Synergy concept will be showcased as a full-scale model and will tour various Polestar locations worldwide, amplifying the exposure for these talented designers.

While the Synergy concept will not enter production, Polestar continues to expand its EV lineup. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the Polestar 3 SUV, following the debut of the Polestar 5 GT at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The limited-edition Polestar 6 roadster, with a production quota of 500 units, sold out earlier this year, further solidifying Polestar’s position as a leading player in the EV market.

Polestar’s design competition, which first commenced in 2020, has gained significant traction. In conjunction with the Synergy concept’s reveal, Polestar announced a collaboration with Hot Wheels. This partnership will inspire the next design competition and lead to the creation of Hot Wheels and Matchbox collectibles based on the Synergy concept.

The Polestar Synergy concept represents a remarkable fusion of performance, sustainability, and nature-inspired design elements. While it may not become a production reality, it serves as a testament to Polestar’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV design and innovation. With an expanding lineup and continued support for emerging designers, Polestar is poised to make a lasting impact on the future of electric mobility.

In conclusion, the Polestar Synergy concept showcases the brand’s dedication to performance, sustainability, and nature-inspired design. Through a collaborative effort with talented designers, Polestar has created a visually striking and technologically advanced concept car. While it may not reach production, the Synergy concept serves as a symbol of Polestar’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV design and innovation. With an expanding lineup and ongoing support for emerging designers, Polestar is well-positioned to shape the future of electric mobility.
