“Pony Coupe Renderings: Tame Version of Hyundai’s N Vision 74 for Streets”

Heading 1: Hyundai’s N Vision 74 Concept

Hyundai’s N Vision 74 concept was a stunning retro-styled coupe that captured the attention of car enthusiasts worldwide. However, rumors about the production version of the car were squashed, leaving many fans disappointed. Despite this setback, one digital designer decided to create production-esque renderings of the car to see what it would look like.

Heading 2: The Pony Coupe Renderings

Instagram user wrd.wrld created the Pony Coupe renderings, which keep the main parts of the N Vision 74’s design but ditch the hardcore aero kit. The car has a more roadworthy look, with the omission of the large black intakes just ahead of the rear fenders. The amber pixel headlights are now white, and a light bar was added at the rear. The car also dons new six-spoke wheels in place of the original turbofans, which themselves hid a multispoke design underneath.

Heading 3: Design and Styling

The Pony Coupe’s design wouldn’t look out of place in Hyundai’s Ioniq lineup, especially as a halo car. The cleaner styling is more faithful to the original Pony Coupe concept developed by Hyundai and Giugiaro in the 1970s. Despite the restrained styling, it still manages to keep its sportiness thanks to things like the box flares, sizeable front lip, and rear diffuser.

Heading 4: Electric Powertrain

Rather than the N Vision 74’s hybrid electric-hydrogen setup, wrd.wrld imagined the Pony Coupe as a pure electric vehicle riding on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform. The car would have a 30 kWh battery pack capable of delivering up to 200 km (124 mi) of range. Thanks to its 800V architecture, it could theoretically charge to 80% in less than ten minutes. Wrd.wrld didn’t provide any information on power, but given the size of the hypothetical battery, it wouldn’t be all that much. The car is described as “compact and agile” to remind us that “driving still matters,” so it’s possible they could have been going for the Mazda Miata approach of a low-power tossable driver’s car.

Heading 5: Conclusion

The Pony Coupe renderings give us a glimpse of what the N Vision 74 could have looked like if it had gone into production. The car’s design is more roadworthy, and the electric powertrain is a nod to the future. While we may never see a production version of the N Vision 74, the Pony Coupe renderings are a testament to the car’s enduring appeal.
