“Porsche issues global recall for Taycan brake fix”

Porsche Recalls All Taycan Models Globally for Brake Fix

Porsche has issued a global recall for all Taycan models produced since 2020 due to a braking issue involving the front brake hoses. While only a small number of cars have been affected, the German manufacturer is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of all vehicles.

Identifying the problem as cracks in the front brake hoses leading to brake fluid leakage, Porsche has emphasized that affected cars may experience reduced brake pressure and system effectiveness. Owners of Taycan models displaying a warning light on the dashboard are advised to drive their cars to a dealership for inspection. If a red warning light appears, owners should contact Porsche immediately and refrain from using the vehicle.

Taycan project manager Kevin Giek assured owners that safety is a top priority, prompting the redesign of the brake hoses with new specifications to prevent future failures. Porsche will notify owners to bring their cars to dealerships for a free replacement hose installation, which will take approximately two hours and will not impact the warranty.

Giek disclosed that less than 1% of all Taycan models sold globally have experienced this issue since 2020, with most cases occurring while the car is stationary. Despite extensive testing before and after the Taycan’s launch, Porsche decided to implement a new design to address the problem proactively.

This recall follows previous recalls for Taycan models, including one for potential airbag issues in 2022 and another for battery cell anomalies last month. Porsche remains committed to ensuring the safety and reliability of its vehicles through rigorous quality control measures.
