Porsche Collaborates with Vitra to Create Limited Edition Chairs Upholstered in Pepita Fabric

Automaker Porsche is known for its iconic Pepita fabric, which has adorned the interiors of its sports cars since the Porsche 356. Now, Porsche has teamed up with Swiss furniture company Vitra to bring this legendary fabric into homes with a collection of three chairs.

The Legacy of Pepita Fabric

Since its debut as an option on the Porsche 911 in 1965, the Pepita pattern has been a hallmark of Porsche’s design language. Originally available on the 356 by special request, the fabric has been featured in special models like the 911 Sport Classic.

The Collection

The collection includes a rolling desk chair, a swiveling armchair, and a plastic side chair, all upholstered in varying degrees with the Pepita pattern. The Eames Plastic Side Chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, will also receive the Pepita treatment, adding a touch of Porsche flair to this iconic piece of furniture.

Limited Availability

The chairs will be sold in limited quantities, with only 1,963 units available worldwide. Prices start at £911 for the Eames Plastic Side Chair in the UK. Unfortunately, the collection will not be offered to customers in the US.

Availability and Pricing

The ID Trim L Pepita Edition desk chair and the Petit Repos Pepita Edition armchair, both designed by Antonio Citterio, will be available in America starting on April 22. The ID Trim L will have 911 units produced, with prices starting at $2,530. The Petit Repos will have only 99 units made, with prices starting at $5,179.

Don’t miss your chance to bring a piece of Porsche’s heritage into your home with these limited edition chairs upholstered in the legendary Pepita fabric.
