Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years: A Retro-Flavored Anniversary Special
Introduction
Porsche unveiled a limited-production special edition model at the Monterey Car Week to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo. The 911 Turbo 50 Years edition pays homage to the original model and features nostalgic styling cues both inside and out. With only 1,974 units being produced, this special edition is a highly sought-after collectible for Porsche enthusiasts.
Distinctive Features
The 911 Turbo 50 Years edition retains the 992.1 platform, while incorporating unique design elements. The profile decals subtly reference the livery of the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo concept, and the Anthracite Grey finish on certain parts creates a striking contrast. The exclusive Turbonite shade, previously seen on other Turbo-badged models, adorns various components of the car. The interior features bold MacKenzie tartan inserts, Turbonite accents, and a custom version of the dashboard-mounted clock.
Performance
The limited run model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter boxer engine, delivering 641 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It is equipped with an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and all-wheel drive. The special edition also comes with a sport exhaust system and PASM sport suspension for enhanced performance and a more aggressive stance.
Pricing and Availability
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years starts at $261,100, plus a $1,995 delivery, processing, and handling fee. The Heritage Design Package “50 Years Turbo” is available as an optional add-on. U.S. deliveries are set to begin in late 2024. Additionally, Porsche is offering a limited-edition chronograph with Turbonite accents, limited to 1,974 units.
