“Powerful Mini Countryman Competes with VW T-Roc R: 296bhp | Giga Gears”

Mini Countryman JCW: A Fiery Performance SUV with 296bhp

New Mini Countryman front lead

Introduction

Mini is set to make a strong entry into the performance SUV market with the new and larger John Cooper Works Countryman. This hot crossover is equipped with a tuned suspension, go-faster looks, and a powerful 296bhp engine.

Powerful Engine and Performance

The John Cooper Works Countryman is powered by an updated version of BMW’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It delivers 296bhp and 295lb ft of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. With a 0-62mph time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, this petrol option is slightly quicker off the mark than the electric Countryman.

Distinctive Design

The John Cooper Works Countryman stands out from its range-mates with its unique visual enhancements. It features a revised front end with a high-gloss treatment for the black grille, distinctive LED headlight graphics, and a more aggressive bumper. The red accents on the brake calipers, mirror housings, roof, and C-pillar further emphasize its sporty character. At the rear, you’ll find new-look light clusters, a central diffuser, and round black tailpipes.

Spacious and Stylish Interior

Inside, the John Cooper Works Countryman offers a new steering wheel and sports seats, along with a red and black color scheme. The dashboard features a circular touchscreen that is shared with other models in the Mini lineup.

Enhanced Driving Experience

The hot Countryman comes with a uniquely tuned suspension setup, featuring stiffer springs and dampers for improved cornering response and stability. It also offers different driving modes, each with its own characteristics, soundtracks, and displays. The “go-kart mode” provides a particularly sporty driving experience, with an intense engine sound in the cabin.

Pricing and Availability

The John Cooper Works Countryman starts at £40,720, and the first customer deliveries in the UK are expected early next year.
