Introducing the Evolv: An Electric Delivery Van for Urban Duties

Prodrive Advanced Technology has partnered with Astheimer Design to develop the Evolv, an electric delivery van designed for urban environments. This collaboration has led to the formation of a new company called ELM Mobility, which will oversee the production of the Evolv starting in 2028.

The Features of the Evolv

  • Dual cargo compartments capable of handling two Euro pallets weighing 1,100 lbs
  • 20 kWh battery providing a 100-mile range

Prodrive: More Than Just High-Performance Cars

Prodrive is renowned for its high-performance road cars, such as the P1, P25, and 22B Imprezas, as well as its success in various racing events. However, the UK-based company also has expertise in other areas, as demonstrated by the development of the Evolv urban delivery van.

Compliance with Safety Standards

The Evolv is classified as an L7e quadricycle in Europe. Despite being exempt from certain safety standards, Prodrive has gone the extra mile to ensure that the Evolv complies with N1 small van crash and pedestrian impact regulations.

Customizable Configurations

The Evolv offers various configurations to suit the needs of different buyers. It can accommodate a 63-inch tall Euro pallet in the primary cargo area, with additional space for a 47-inch pallet in the secondary compartment. ELM has even developed an optional pallet truck that can be stored on the van.

Efficient and Practical Design

The Evolv features a wraparound windscreen and a single, centrally-mounted driver’s seat, providing excellent visibility for urban driving. Its exterior design is simple yet robust, with modular panels designed to withstand the demands of congested city streets.

Suitable for Last-Mile Deliveries

With a 20 kWh battery, a 100-mile range, and a top speed of 50 mph, the Evolv is optimized for last-mile delivery operations. Charging from 20-80 percent takes less than two hours, making overnight charging convenient for most users.

Pricing and Availability

The Evolv is expected to be priced from £25,000 ($33,000) when it goes on sale in 2028. Pre-series production models will be tested by customers before the final vans are ready for production.
