Ram Rampage Aims to Disrupt South America’s Small Pickup Market

Ram Reveals the 2024 Rampage: A New Player in the South American Pickup Segment

Ram has finally revealed its plans for the South American pickup segment with the upcoming 2024 Rampage. The automaker has released a series of videos, with the final one officially confirming the selection and discussing the history of the name, while also revealing what the truck will look like. The small truck segment is heating up around the world, and with the Rampage, Ram wants a piece of that pie.

Design and Appearance

Although Ram has only released a small number of photos, much of the design is revealed in the final video released ahead of the truck’s full unveiling. With a big front grille, C-shaped DRLs, and boxy, yet muscular lines, the new Ram Rampage looks set to impress. Meanwhile, at the back, the taillights almost look like America’s star-spangled banner – a curious choice for a truck primarily directed at the South American market.

Behind the Name

In addition to revealing the truck’s appearance, Ram officials also spoke about the name “Rampage.” A historic one for the brand, CEO Mike Koval Jr. explains that it speaks of power and courage, two qualities he hopes will be associated with the truck. Previously, Dodge had used the Rampage name for a small, 2-door unibody pickup truck made from 1982 through 1984 before restructuring it for a 2006 concept truck.

Interior Features

Ram has promised that the Rampage will be filled with fine materials, such as suede-like door cards and details, as well as leather seats. A rotary gear selector will further lend the truck an air of premium quality. The truck will have a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that uses Uconnect 5. A digital instrument cluster will also be available for the truck, as revealed in a previous video.

Performance

The Rampage will be powered by Stellantis’ 2.0-liter, four-cylinder “Hurricane 4” gasoline engine, which is shared by the Jeep Wrangler. It makes 270 hp (201 kW/274 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque in that SUV. However, specific performance figures for the Rampage have not been disclosed by Ram at this time.

Conclusion

Full details and a formal unveiling of the 2024 Ram Rampage are expected later this year. With its impressive design, premium interior features, and powerful engine, the Rampage is poised to make a splash in the South American pickup segment. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to Ram’s lineup.
