Recall Alert: Dodge Charger, Challenger, and Chrysler 300 for Roll-Away Risk

2023 Dodge Charger, Challenger, and Chrysler 300 Recalled for Parking Brake Issue

Introduction

Discovering that your car has rolled down a hill due to a parking brake issue can be a nightmare scenario for any car owner. Stellantis is recalling 1,808 Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers, and Dodge Challengers built in September 2023 due to an improperly adjusted parking brake.

The Recall

Stellantis first became aware of the problem on September 12 and immediately initiated an engineering review to understand the issue. The faulty parking brake could lead to a roll-away risk, increasing the chances of a crash. This assembly issue affects 1,034 Dodge Chargers, 641 Dodge Challengers, and 133 Chrysler 300s built between September 5 and 11.

Remedy

To address the problem, Stellantis will contact owners starting April 5 to bring their vehicles to a dealership for a free parking brake adjustment. While the cause of the issue is still unclear, production of the affected vehicles has been halted to prevent further incidents.

Conclusion

Ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers is paramount, and Stellantis is taking proactive measures to address this parking brake issue. Owners of the affected vehicles should respond promptly to the recall notice to prevent any potential accidents.
