Renault Unveils Electric Estafette Concept for 2026 Production Van

Renault Electric Estafette Concept

Introduction

Renault has recently unveiled the Estafette, an electric concept van that serves as a preview for a production model set to be released in 2026. Inspired by the popular Renault van from the 1960s and ’70s, the Estafette combines retro styling cues with modern electric technology.

Design and Features

The Estafette features round headlights and a fun, vibrant design that aims to make vans less boring and more visually appealing. The van is built on the FlexEVan platform, which was developed in collaboration with Volvo and logistics company CMA CGM Group. With a length of 4,870 mm (191.7 inches), the Estafette occupies a similar road space as Renault’s Kangoo, but offers the agility of a Clio and a spacious 7.1 m2 (250.7 cu-ft) load capacity. The van also boasts a height of 2,590 mm (102 inches), allowing drivers to walk upright from the cab to the cargo bay.

Powertrain

While specific powertrain details have not been disclosed, Renault states that the Estafette is designed for urban use and therefore does not require a high-power output or a large battery. The electric drivetrain is expected to provide sufficient performance for city driving and delivery routes.

Interior

The Estafette’s interior is equipped with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. These displays can run various software applications tailored to different tradesmen’s needs. The van also features widgets below the screen and on the steering wheel for easy access to favorite apps, as well as a pair of 10-inch vertical screens on either door for mirror functions.

Conclusion

Renault’s Estafette concept showcases the brand’s commitment to creating innovative and visually appealing electric vans. With its retro-inspired design, flexible cargo space, and modern technology, the Estafette is set to revolutionize the commercial van market when it enters production in 2026.
