Introduction

Renault has unveiled the ZFlexEVan, a modern version of the iconic Estafette van. Developed in partnership with Volvo Trucks, this electric load-lugger is designed specifically for urban environments. With its unique design and eye-catching colors, the ZFlexEVan aims to stand out from the crowd of traditional diesel vans on the market.

Inspired by the Estafette

The ZFlexEVan pays homage to its predecessor, the Estafette, by incorporating its signature twin round headlights and soft curves. Renault intends for these design elements, along with the striking grey and yellow livery, to bring a sense of vibrancy to European city streets.

A Driver-Centric Approach

Measuring 4.87m in length, the ZFlexEVan is longer than a BMW 3 Series. However, its turning circle is comparable to that of a Renault Clio, making it highly maneuverable in tight city spaces. The van also boasts a distinctive height of 2.59m, allowing the driver to walk through the entire length of the vehicle without crouching.

Customizable and Upgradable

The ZFlexEVan is Renault’s first software-defined vehicle, offering extensive customization options through its on-board operating system. For example, a van retrofitted with fridges in the cargo bay can have its dashboard reprogrammed to display the temperature of those fridges. Additionally, the van can receive updates over time to enhance its range, safety systems, and connectivity, resulting in 30% lower running costs compared to existing vans.

The Future of Renault Vans

The ZFlexEVan is set to go into production in two years and may even adopt the Estafette name. Renault’s partnership with Volvo Trucks, known as Flexis, aims to dominate the European van market. With its innovative design and advanced features, the ZFlexEVan represents Renault’s commitment to revolutionizing the commercial vehicle industry.
