Renault Mégane E-Tech Price Cut: Electric Hatchback Now More Affordable
The Renault Mégane E-Tech, an electric hatchback, has undergone a significant price reduction across its entire lineup. The starting price for the vehicle now begins at £34,495, which is £2,500 less than the previous starting price of £36,995. The discounts on higher trim levels are even more substantial.
Improved Pricing for Different Trim Levels
The middle-rung Techno+ trim is now priced from £36,495, making it £3,000 cheaper than before. The range-topping Iconic model is now available for £38,495, which is £3,500 less than its previous price.
These price adjustments position the Mégane as a more affordable option compared to its mid-sized rivals, such as the Kia Niro EV (£37,295) and the Volkswagen ID 3 (£37,225). However, the MG 4 remains the most cost-effective option, starting at just £26,995.
Reasons for the Price Cuts
The price reductions for the Mégane E-Tech have been implemented to create space in Renault’s pricing strategy for the upcoming Renault Scenic E-Tech. This new family SUV is expected to be available in the UK early next year with an estimated price of around £40,000. The exact figure will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Additionally, the price cuts are a response to the increased production of right-hand-drive Mégane vehicles following their launch in the UK in 2022. Renault has already sold over 5,000 units of the electric hatchback since its introduction.
Overall, these price reductions make the Renault Mégane E-Tech a more affordable and competitive option in the electric hatchback market. With its improved pricing, it offers a compelling choice for eco-conscious car buyers.
