Renault is preparing for the launch of the highly anticipated Mobilize Duo, the spiritual successor to the popular Twizy, in the UK.

A recent job listing on LinkedIn for a London-based product manager confirms the news, indicating that the Duo and its cargo van variant, the Bento, will soon be available in the UK market.

Managing Sales and Competitors

The product manager will be responsible for overseeing the sales process and pricing of both electric vehicles. Additionally, they will be tasked with monitoring the performance of competitors such as the Citroën Ami and Ami Cargo.

While the hiring process is still ongoing, it is expected that the Mobilize Duo and Bento will not arrive in the UK until next year.

A spokesperson for Renault stated that plans are still being developed and will be announced in due course.

Mobilize’s Evolution

This launch signifies Mobilize’s transition from managing financial responsibilities, such as vehicle finance and insurance for the Renault Group, to establishing itself as an independent brand.

Mobilize Duo: The Twizy Successor

The Mobilize Duo serves as a direct successor to the Renault Twizy, featuring the same compact proportions and tandem seating layout. It is designed to fit three Duos side by side in a regular parking space and boasts Lamborghini-style scissor doors for easy access in tight spots.

Two versions of the Duo will be available. One will adhere to the L6e quadricycle regulations, limiting its top speed to 28mph. The other will comply with L7e regulations and have a top speed of 50mph. Both variants are expected to have a range of 87 miles.

Mobilize Bento: Designed for Last-Mile Delivery

The Bento is a modified version of the Duo specifically tailored for last-mile delivery services. It features a 700-litre cargo locker at the rear end, providing ample space for deliveries.

Unique Rental and Subscription Model

Unlike the Citroën Ami, the Mobilize Duo and Bento are unlikely to be available for direct purchase by the general public. Instead, short-term rentals will be offered through a dedicated app, while long-term subscriptions can be arranged via a dedicated website. This website will also facilitate servicing and maintenance.
