Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera has introduced the Veloce 12, a restomod version of the iconic Ferrari 550 Maranello. This upgraded supercar retains its original 5.5-litre V12 engine and six-speed manual gearbox, while receiving significant enhancements in terms of performance, design, and interior.

Enhanced Performance and Design

The Veloce 12 has undergone a complete overhaul to bring it to an “as-new” condition. The V12 engine has been equipped with a more efficient cooling system, offering a 30% improvement over the original Ferrari setup. Additionally, a Supersprint exhaust has been installed, resulting in a power increase of 25bhp, bringing the total output to 503bhp. With these upgrades, the Veloce 12 can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 199mph, matching the performance of the original 550 Maranello.

Furthermore, Touring Superleggera has partnered with Tractive to develop an adaptive suspension system for the Veloce 12, enhancing its handling capabilities. The car also features larger Brembo brake discs, reducing unsprung weight and improving braking performance.

Notably, the chassis of the Veloce 12 has been reinforced with additional metalwork around the door apertures, increasing torsional stiffness and drawing inspiration from the Ferrari F12. The bodywork is crafted from lightweight carbon fibre, and the car is fitted with bespoke alloy wheels to further reduce its overall weight.

Luxurious Interior

Inside the Veloce 12, Touring Superleggera has replaced the original plastic components with aluminium, providing a more premium feel to key touchpoints such as the heater controls. The panels have also been reupholstered in Italian leather, adding a touch of luxury to the interior.

Pricing and Availability

The Veloce 12 is priced at €690,000 (£590,000) and does not include the cost of the donor car (£60,000-£100,000) or local taxes. Touring Superleggera plans to produce a limited run of 30 units, available in both left- and right-hand drive configurations.
