Rimac Achieves Nurburgring EV Record, Unveils Nevera Time Attack Edition

The Rimac Nevera Sets New Lap Record at the Nürburgring

The Rimac Nevera has set a new lap record at the Nürburgring, making it the fastest production electric car to ever complete a lap on the famous track. Croatian racing driver Martin Kodrić achieved this feat with a Nevera equipped with Michelin Cup2R tires, completing the lap in an impressive time of 7 minutes and 5.298 seconds. This time has been confirmed by on-board telemetry as well as TÜV SÜD, solidifying the Nevera’s position as the new record holder.

A Triumph for Rimac

The Nevera’s record-breaking lap time surpasses the previous record set by the Tesla Model S Plaid earlier this year, which completed the track in 7 minutes and 25.231 seconds. Martin Kodrić expressed his admiration for the Nevera, stating, “The fact that the Nevera can achieve this kind of speed on track, when it’s been developed to be a comfortable hyper GT for the road, is what makes it so special. It’s such a well-rounded piece of engineering and design; gentle and usable in the city, thrilling to drive on twisting B-roads, comfortable over long distances and devastatingly fast on a race track.”

Introducing the Nevera Time Attack Edition

To celebrate this remarkable achievement and over 20 other broken records, Rimac has unveiled the Nevera Time Attack Edition. This special edition model pays homage to the car that set each of these records over the past year. Limited to just 12 units, all of which have already been spoken for, each Time Attack Edition features a unique livery inspired by the specific record-breaking achievement.

The first special edition boasts a Squadron Black exterior with Lightning Green accents and striking front-to-back stripes. The Lightning Green color is inspired by a weather phenomenon that occurs before a storm, where charged ionized particles give the sky a vibrant green hue. This color also pays tribute to Mate Rimac’s e-M3, which was named the fastest accelerating electric vehicle in 2012.

The remaining Time Attack Editions come with either a Squadron Black or exposed carbon fiber body, complemented by colorful accents and a rear wing that bears the inscription, “Dedicated to those coming after us.” Inside, black Alcantara upholstery contrasts with the vibrant exterior accents, and the seats feature “Time Attack” badging along with an engraved plaque that denotes the car’s exclusivity as “Time Attack: 1 of 12.”

Continuing the Legacy

The Rimac Nevera’s new lap record at the Nürburgring solidifies its position as a groundbreaking electric hypercar. With its impressive performance on the track and its versatility for everyday driving, the Nevera showcases the pinnacle of engineering and design in the electric vehicle industry. Rimac’s commitment to pushing boundaries and breaking records is evident in the Nevera Time Attack Edition, which serves as a testament to the brand’s dedication to innovation and performance.

As electric vehicles continue to evolve and redefine the automotive landscape, the Rimac Nevera stands as a shining example of what is possible in terms of speed, performance, and sustainability. With its record-breaking lap time at the Nürburgring, the Nevera has firmly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of electric cars.

As we look to the future, it will be exciting to see how Rimac and other manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, further solidifying the place of electric cars in the automotive industry.
