Skoda Kamiq Gets Tougher Look Starting at £29,275 | Giga Gears

Skoda has announced that the updated Kamiq crossover will be priced from £24,030 in the UK. The refreshed model features a more rugged appearance, upgrades to safety equipment, and new optional extras. The new Skoda Kamiq will be available for order starting from 3 October.

The Skoda Kamiq is offered in three specification levels: SE, SE L, and Monte Carlo. The base SE spec comes with 17-inch wheels, an 8.25-inch infotainment display, an 8.0-inch instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors, LED headlights, and dual-zone climate control.

Moving up to the SE L spec, the Kamiq offers interior upgrades such as ambient lighting, a larger 9.2-inch infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital cockpit. Exterior changes include 18-inch wheels, chrome exterior styling, and privacy glass. Prices for the Kamiq in SE L spec start from £27,175.

The range-topping Monte Carlo trim starts at £29,275 and includes further exterior design changes such as 18-inch black alloy wheels, black door mirrors, a black front grille, and black badging. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof, a reversing camera, dynamic indicators, more powerful LED matrix headlamps, and sports chassis control.

The Skoda Kamiq shares its engine lineup with the Scala. It starts with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit with 95bhp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. A mid-range 1.0-litre TSI offers 115bhp, with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine is also available, offering 150bhp with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG.

The Kamiq first went on sale in 2019 and is based on the same platform as the Seat Arona and Volkswagen T-Cross. As part of its mid-life update, it features a larger front grille with new front and rear aprons, larger air intakes, and a “three-dimensional mesh” to emphasize its width. The headlights are slimmer and fully illuminated by LEDs, and the Skoda name is spelled out on the rear of the car for the first time.

Inside, the new Kamiq comes with an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display and an 8.25-inch central touchscreen as standard, with a 10.25-inch digital cockpit available as an optional extra. The interior also incorporates additional sustainable materials, such as natural plant fibers used in the rooflining and door trim, and recycled plastics for the wheel-arch linings and windscreen water reservoir. The upholstery, flooring, and floor mats are made from recycled fabric.

With its updated design, enhanced safety features, and sustainable materials, the Skoda Kamiq offers a compelling option in the crossover segment. Starting at £24,030, it provides excellent value for money and a range of options to suit different preferences and budgets. Whether you’re looking for a practical family car or a stylish urban crossover, the Skoda Kamiq is worth considering.
