Skoda Scala: Updated Tech and Styling from £22,096 | Giga Gears

The new Skoda Scala has received a facelift and is now available for purchase in the UK, with prices starting from £22,096. This updated version of the Czech brand’s family hatchback features a refreshed design and new technology. It is the first time the Scala has been updated since its launch in 2019.

The Skoda Scala is available in three specification levels: SE, SE L, and Monte Carlo. The entry-level SE comes with an 8.25-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone mirroring, LED headlights, and an 8.0-inch digital driver’s display as standard. It also includes 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, and keyless entry.

Moving up to the SE L trim, buyers will get bigger 17-inch wheels, chrome exterior trim, and rear privacy glass. The SE L also features a larger 9.2-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, and interior ambient lighting. Prices for the SE L trim start from £23,895.

For those looking for a sportier option, the range-topping Monte Carlo models start at £27,795. These models are equipped with sporty 18-inch black alloy wheels, full LED matrix adaptive headlights, a panoramic sunroof, and a rear-view camera. The Monte Carlo variant is also the only one to have access to a drive mode selection and sports chassis control as standard.

The engine range of the updated Scala is shared with the facelifted Skoda Kamiq crossover. It consists of a series of turbocharged petrol engines. The base model comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine producing 95bhp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. There is also a 115bhp version available with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG). At the top of the range, there is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine producing 150bhp, which can be paired with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG.

In terms of design, the updated Scala features a new front grille, slimmer headlights, updated front and rear aprons, and new air curtains. Skoda has also made efforts to increase the use of sustainable materials in the Scala. The roof lining and much of the door trim are now made of natural plant fibers, while the wheel-arch linings and the windscreen’s water reservoir are made from recycled plastic. The upholstery, flooring, and floor mats are also made from recycled fabric.

The Scala was Skoda’s eighth best-selling car last year, and with these updates, the brand aims to attract even more customers. The combination of a refreshed design, upgraded technology, and the use of sustainable materials makes the Scala an appealing choice for those in the market for a family hatchback.

Overall, the facelifted Skoda Scala offers a range of improvements over its predecessor. With its updated design, advanced technology, and commitment to sustainability, it is sure to be a popular choice among buyers in the UK. Whether you opt for the entry-level SE, mid-range SE L, or range-topping Monte Carlo, you can expect a stylish and well-equipped hatchback that delivers on both performance and efficiency.
