Introduction

Skoda UK has introduced a unique version of the Superb called the Sleeper Edition. Despite its unassuming appearance, this model boasts supercar levels of performance.

Powerful Performance

The Sleeper Edition is based on the Laurin & Klement 4×4 variant of the outgoing Mk3 estate. However, its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine has been upgraded from 276bhp to an impressive 470bhp. Torque has also almost doubled, increasing from 258lb ft to 488lb ft.

The significant increase in power comes from a comprehensive engine upgrade. The regular turbocharger has been replaced with a larger Garrett Powermax unit, which is paired with a bigger intercooler. The fuel system has been revised, and bespoke exhaust components have been installed while retaining the factory-fitted exhaust box.

Subtle Enhancements

Visually, the Sleeper Edition closely resembles the regular Superb Estate. The only noticeable differences are the 50mm reduction in ride height, thanks to new KW coilover suspension, and the addition of AP Racing disc brakes with bright red six-pot calipers.

Unique Features

The Superb Sleeper Edition is finished in Royal Green metallic paint and features Cognac leather upholstery. These unique touches add to the exclusivity of this one-off model.

Celebration of the Mk3 Superb

The Sleeper Edition serves as a celebration of the Mk3 Superb, which recently went off sale. Skoda sold an impressive 860,000 examples of the Mk3 Superb globally. While this special edition is not available to the public, it showcases the capabilities and performance potential of the Superb range.

Overall, the Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition combines an unassuming appearance with exceptional performance, making it a truly unique and exciting model.
