“Skywell Skyhome: 617bhp Chinese EV set for UK release”

Skywell Skyhome: A Luxurious Chinese EV Saloon Coming to the UK

Introduction

The UK importer for Chinese EV brand Skywell, Innovation Automotive, has revealed plans to launch the Skyhome, a tech-heavy luxury saloon that will rival the BMW i7. This four-seater is set to impress with its in-car entertainment features and advanced technologies, all inspired by Chinese architecture.

Design Inspired by Chinese Architecture

The Skyhome’s design is a nod to Chinese architecture, with front-end lighting inspired by the upswept roof of a Chinese pavilion. The rear end boasts small LED ‘pixel’ lights that showcase significant milestones in Chinese history. The active rear spoiler, which can extend for added downforce, is a reference to the pavilion roof.

Interior Features

Inside, the Skyhome draws inspiration from a traditional Chinese courtyard. LED light ‘pillars’ flank a large touchscreen that controls various functions. An AI assistant named Xiaowei offers navigation, time management, and financial advice. The rear seats, accessed through Rolls-Royce-style doors, can slide, recline, and offer massage functionality. Tablets in the front seatbacks allow rear passengers to control key functions and join work meetings on the go.

Entertainment and Technology

The Skyhome features a large ceiling-mounted television that folds out for rear passengers, similar to the BMW i7. This screen can be used for work or connected to a games console for entertainment. While technical details like screen size and powertrain outputs are yet to be released, Skywell promises single-motor and dual-motor options. The dual-motor variant boasts 617bhp and can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. The saloon can recharge 304 miles’ worth of power in 10 minutes and supply external devices at up to 100kW.

Conclusion

Pricing for the Skyhome has not been announced yet, but with its luxurious features, advanced technologies, and striking design inspired by Chinese architecture, this Chinese EV saloon is set to make a splash in the UK market.
