Skyworth Founder Makes Bold Claims About EV6 at Beijing Auto Show

The founder of Skyworth, a Chinese technology company known for manufacturing TVs and home electronics, made some controversial statements at the Beijing Auto Show regarding their electric vehicle, the EV6. Huang Hongsheng claimed that the EV6 has the ability to cure various ailments and even extend the driver’s lifespan by 30 years.

Controversy Surrounding Healing Claims

Despite these bold assertions, there is no scientific evidence to support such claims. Skyworth later clarified that Hongsheng’s comments about the vehicle’s ability to promote deep sleep were misinterpreted. The EV6 itself is a standard electric SUV with different battery options and range capabilities.

Skyworth Auto EV6: A Closer Look

The Skyworth Auto EV6 has been in production since 2021 and is available in select international markets. However, it has not gained as much attention as other Chinese electric vehicles. During the Beijing Auto Show, Hongsheng’s remarks about the EV6’s healing properties sparked controversy.

Questionable Health Benefits

Hongsheng claimed that driving a Skyworth electric car cured him of diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health issues. He even went as far as suggesting that the vehicle could add 30 years to the driver’s life. However, these claims were met with skepticism as no evidence was provided to support them.

Debunking the Claims

As reports of Hongsheng’s statements circulated in the media, Skyworth issued a response stating that his comments were taken out of context. The company clarified that the EV6 is designed to promote deep sleep, which could potentially have health benefits, but stopped short of endorsing the more extreme claims made by its founder.

The EV6’s Features and Specifications

Despite the controversy surrounding its healing properties, the Skyworth Auto EV6 is a capable electric SUV. It comes with various battery options, including a 72 kWh and an 86 kWh pack, offering a range of up to 385 miles (620 km). The entry-level model features a single electric motor with 204 hp driving the front wheels.
