Suzuki Tour H1: Alto’s Affordable LCV Twin in India

The Suzuki Tour H1: A No-Frills LCV Variant of the Alto K10

Suzuki has recently launched the Tour H1 in India, which is essentially a no-frills variant of the Suzuki Alto K10. The model features an even more basic styling, with unpainted plastic bumpers, tiny steelies without hubcaps, and no antenna. The Tour H1 is available in three shades, namely Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Granite Grey, and Arctic White.

Interior Features

Inside, the LCV doesn’t come with an infotainment touchscreen, but it still has features like the digital speedometer, dual airbags, air conditioning, and 1lt bottle holders on the door pockets. Unlike European LCV-converted hatchbacks that lose the rear seats in favor of a larger cargo area, the Tour H1 retains the rear bench with the headrests.

Engine Performance

Under the hood, the Suzuki Tour H1 is powered by Suzuki’s 1.0-liter K-Series petrol engine that delivers 66 hp (49 kW / 67 PS) and 89 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is also available in a CNG-fuelled variant, producing a slightly detuned 56 hp (42 kW / 57 PS) and 82.1 Nm (60.6 lb-ft) of torque. In both cases, power is transmitted to the front axle exclusively through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Pricing

The Suzuki Tour H1 is already available to order in India priced at ₹480,500 ($5,864) in petrol form, or at ₹570,500 ($6,962) in CNG guise. Interestingly, those numbers are higher than the ex-showroom base price of the Alto K10 which starts from ₹399,000 ($4,869).

Maruti Suzuki’s LCV Range

Besides the Tour H1 (Alto K10), Maruti Suzuki’s LCV range includes the Tour H3 (Wagon-R), the Tour S (Dzire), the Tour V (Eeco), and the Tour M (Ertiga).
