The Tata Curvv has finally entered production, more than two years after its concept debut. This budget SUV Coupe is set to make its mark in the Indian market on August 7, offering buyers a choice between gasoline, diesel, and EV powertrains.

Production Version Unveiled

Tata has unveiled the production version of the Curvv, which will be available in both EV and ICE forms. The market launch in India is scheduled for August 2024.

Concept to Reality

The Tata Curvv concept was first introduced in EV form in April 2022, followed by the ICE-powered version in January 2023. The production models closely resemble the concept, with some toned-down features. The standout design element is the sloping roofline, reminiscent of the BMW X6.

Exterior Features

The production version of the Curvv showcases redesigned full-LED headlights, a tweaked grille, conventional mirrors, smaller wheels, and a discreet rear spoiler. The SUV retains its flush door handles for a sleek look.

Interior Preview

While Tata has not released interior photos, reports suggest that the dashboard will be similar to the Nexon model, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and touch-sensitive controls. Buyers can expect a range of interior color options and accents.

Powertrain Options

Based on Tata’s Gen 2 architecture, the Curvv is likely to share powertrain options with the Nexon subcompact SUV. The ICE model may come with a turbo 1.2-liter gasoline engine initially, with a potential 1.5-liter diesel option in the future. The EV variant is expected to offer two battery choices, providing up to 500 km of range.

Upcoming Debut and Pricing

Technical specifications and pricing details for the Tata Curvv will be announced at its formal debut on August 7 in India. Reports estimate that the ICE version could start around Rs 10.50 lakh ($12,550), while the Curvv.EV may begin at Rs 20 lakh ($23,905).
