Former Tesla Executive Launches 800 HP Electric Boat with Delayed Deliveries
The Blue Innovations Group R30, an American-designed and built electric power boat, is set to make its debut on December 16. However, customers will have to wait a little longer for their deliveries, as they have been delayed by a few months.
The R30 is a 30-foot (nine-meter) boat with an impressive 800 hp (596 kW/811 PS) electric motor. It was first showcased at CES and will be publicly unveiled in St. Petersburg, Florida. Originally, deliveries were planned for the second quarter of 2024, but they have now been pushed back to the third quarter.
Customers who are eager to secure their spot can reserve the R30 for $1,000. For those who want to be among the first 100 customers to receive the new boat, they have the option to opt for a “BIG Reservation” by paying $5,000. This will guarantee them a spot at the front of the line when deliveries begin.

The R30 is equipped with two electric motors that generate a total of 800 hp (596 kW/811 PS). It features a 221 kWh battery pack and a roof covered in solar panels. Blue Innovations Group estimates that the boat will be able to operate for up to eight hours and reach speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km/h).
With a length of 30 feet (nine meters), the R30 can accommodate up to 12 people. It comes with a kitchenette and a “folding ocean terrace” that enhances deck space when hosting a party.

While the R30 offers an impressive boating experience, it comes with a hefty price tag. Blue Innovations Group estimates that the boat will be priced at $300,000.
