All five Tesla models hold the top spots in the used EV search rankings, indicating strong demand for Tesla’s electric vehicles in the pre-owned market.

Rising Demand for New EVs

Despite concerns about slowing demand, a study shows that demand for new EVs has increased by 17.2% year over year. However, inventories have also grown by 77.2%, with an average supply of 79 days.

Top Used EVs in the Market

The Rivian R1S leads the pack as the fastest-selling used EV, followed by the Chevrolet Bolt EUV and Rivian R1T. The Kia EV6 and Bolt EV also make appearances in the top five rankings.

Tesla Models Dominate Used EV Searches

On Cars.com, Tesla models dominate the top five used EV searches. The Model 3 has the lowest average list price at $26,922, while the Cybertruck commands the highest average price at $143,796.

Ford F-150 Lightning Tops New EV Search Data

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the most searched-for new EV, followed by the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Kia’s EV9 SUV. The Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Blazer EV round out the top five in new EV searches.

Challenges in the EV Market

Despite increasing choices and inventories, high costs remain a barrier for many consumers entering the new EV market. With an average price of $63,030, new EVs are still considered luxury items, requiring lower prices or incentives to reach a broader customer base.
