Toyota Teases Trio of Concept Cars for Japan Mobility Show 2023

Toyota has given car enthusiasts a sneak peek at three concept cars that will be showcased at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo. While two of the concepts remain hidden under a veil, the third one has been fully unveiled, giving us a glimpse of its unique design.

The first two concepts, which are yet to be revealed, appear to have low-slung bodystyles. One resembles a coupe, while the other takes on the form of a sleek sedan. These mysterious concepts have sparked curiosity among car enthusiasts, leaving them with more questions than answers.

On the other hand, the third concept has been fully uncovered, showcasing its boxy shape. This small-sized electric vehicle (EV) draws inspiration from minivans and light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Its single-box proportions give it a distinctive look. The pixel-style LED headlights are housed in a digital panel that could potentially display messages. The windshield is heavily inclined for improved aerodynamics. The profile features a sliding door and narrow windows that seem to be connected to the rear glass. One of the prototypes even sports a roof rack with a kayak and other equipment, suggesting its camping-friendly and adventure-ready nature.

Apart from these concept cars, Toyota will also display several production vehicles that have already been unveiled. Among the highlights are the IMV0/Rangga multi-purpose truck, recently showcased in Thailand, and the Toyota Hilux BEV concept. Visitors can also expect to see the newly launched Toyota Crown Sport SUV, alongside the Land Cruiser J300, J250, and J70 models. The flagship Century SUV, which made headlines with its debut last month, will also be on display.

In addition to the exciting lineup of cars, Toyota has planned various interactive activities for visitors. These include music, dance, and gaming experiences. At the “Capsule Bar,” attendees can participate in a game to win miniature cars by answering a simple question correctly. The photo spot featuring a buggy running on the moon is likely a reference to the Baby Lunar Cruiser EV concept. Furthermore, Toyota will showcase a new technology that allows wheelchair users to operate driving simulators like Gran Turismo 7 without the need for accelerator or brake pedals.

The Japan Mobility Show 2023 will take place in Tokyo from October 26 to November 5. However, more details about the Toyota concepts are expected to be unveiled on October 25, which is the press day of the event.

Car enthusiasts and industry professionals alike are eagerly anticipating the Japan Mobility Show 2023, as it promises to showcase innovative concepts and cutting-edge technologies from Toyota. With its diverse range of concept cars and interactive activities, the event is set to captivate visitors and provide a glimpse into the future of mobility.
