TVR Scamander Amphibious Prototype Now Road Legal

The TVR Scamander: A Unique Concept Car Revived After a Decade

The Revival of the TVR Scamander

After spending over a decade in a barn, the only TVR Scamander is officially back on the road. Recently refreshed, the owner and Harry Metcalfe took it from its resting place to the MOT office, documenting the journey in a video.

TVR’s Wildest Concept

TVR is known for its wild cars like the Sagaris and the Cerbera Speed 12. However, the Scamander, an amphibious concept, is perhaps its most unique creation. After years of neglect, it is now seeking its MOT certification.

The MOT Certification Journey

The Scamander has been dormant for around 12 years, tucked away in a garage. Joe Wheeler, son of the late TVR Owner Peter Wheeler, is determined to bring it back to life. With the help of Harry Metcalfe, they embark on a journey to get the vehicle certified for road use once again.

A Unique Driving Experience

The Scamander features a central steering wheel with three-abreast seating reminiscent of the McLaren F1. It boasts multiple displays and windows, making it a truly one-of-a-kind vehicle. Despite some initial challenges, Wheeler and Metcalfe successfully obtain the necessary certification.

Future Display in London

Following its revival, the Scamander is set to be displayed at the 2024 Concours event in London. From June 4-6, visitors will have the opportunity to witness this extraordinary amphibious vehicle in person.
