Unlock Extra Power for Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Owners – Only $995 | Giga Gears

Ford Offers Performance Upgrade for the Mustang Mach-E GT

If you have a need for speed, you’d probably bypass the Ford Mustang Mach-E and get the real thing. However, if you didn’t, you might be able to eke out a little more performance.

Ford Introduces Performance Upgrade for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT

Ford has announced that the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT can now receive a “performance upgrade” either at the time of purchase or after. This upgrade combines innovative powertrain thermal modeling and control algorithms to provide an extra 100 lb-ft (135 Nm) of torque.

Impressive Performance Numbers

The performance upgrade enables the electric crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph (183 km/h). These numbers make the Mach-E GT faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance. It’s worth noting that the Mach-E GT starts at $54,995 before the upgrade, while the Tesla Model Y starts at $51,490.

Price and Comparison

Although Ford didn’t mention the price of the upgrade, it is suggested to cost $995 before taxes. In comparison, Mercedes EQE customers can get an extra 60 hp (45 kW / 61 PS) for $60 per month, $600 per year, or $1,950 for the lifetime of the vehicle. Similarly, EQS owners can unlock an additional 80 hp (60 kW / 81 PS) for $90 per month, $900 per year, or $2,950 for life.

While the prices for the upgrade may not be cheap, the flexibility offered by Mercedes is interesting as it allows customers to try out the extra performance before committing to a larger investment. It would have been nice if Ford had implemented a similar approach.
