Volvo ES90 Saloon: First Look and Confirmation

Volvo Unveils First Look at ES90 Electric Saloon

Volvo ES90 teaser 2

Introduction

Volvo has released a sneak peek of its upcoming ES90, the brand’s first-ever electric saloon set to launch in 2025. This electric counterpart to the popular S90 will compete with the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE in the large electric saloon segment.

Design and Features

The ES90’s design will draw inspiration from the recently launched EX90 electric SUV. Although details are scarce, the ES90 is expected to share the same bespoke electric platform as the EX90, allowing for advanced software systems and technology integration. The saloon is approximately five meters long and will be available in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. It will also feature a 111kWh (107kWh usable) battery, similar to the one used in the EX90.

Production and Market

The ES90 will be manufactured at a Geely-owned plant in China, primarily targeting the Chinese luxury saloon market. However, it will also be sold in other markets, including the UK, where it will serve as a flagship model for brand-building purposes.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Volvo ES90 as its launch date approaches.
