Volkswagen Unveils New Golf R 333 Special Edition

Volkswagen has introduced a new special edition of the Golf R, called the Golf R 333, in Germany. This new model is based on the Golf R Performance and features a striking Lime Yellow Metallic exterior, a black roof, and black 19-inch wheels wrapped in semi-slick tires. The car also comes with LED Matrix headlights, “333” graphics, and an Akrapovič exhaust system with titanium silencers.

The interior of the Golf R 333 is more restrained, but still luxurious. It features Nappa leather sport seats, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, and a sequentially numbered badge on the dashboard. The cabin also boasts carbon fiber-like trim, gloss black accents, and blue contrast stitching.

The Golf R 333 comes with an assortment of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with stop and go, Lane Assist, Emergency Assist, Travel Assist, and a rearview camera system.

Under the hood, the Golf R 333 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 329 horsepower (245 kW / 333 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.6 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). The car also features a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive system.

Only 333 units of the Golf R 333 will be made, and German customers can order the model starting on June 2nd. Production is slated to begin in September, with deliveries starting the following month.

However, the Golf R 333 comes with a hefty price tag of €76,410 ($81,291) in Germany. This is significantly more expensive than the Golf R Performance, which starts at €57,985 ($49,785).
