Spy Shots of the Volkswagen Transporter

Spy photographers have recently captured images of the upcoming Volkswagen Transporter, which is set to make its debut this fall. The new Transporter will be available in diesel, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrain options. Additionally, there will be two wheelbase choices and both panel van and Kombi variants.

Unique Design Elements

The Transporter showcases its Ford roots, but with a distinct Volkswagen touch. The front fascia incorporates design cues from the ID. Buzz, with noticeable changes in the headlights and vertical air curtains at the outer edges. The rest of the design closely resembles the Ford Transit Custom, but the Transporter will feature unique taillights.

Interior Features

Inside the Transporter, drivers can expect a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13-inch infotainment system. The steering wheel, electronic parking brake, and spacious center console with a wireless smartphone charger add to the convenience. The van also offers USB-A, USB-C, and 12-volt ports, along with a “power hub” capable of handling up to 400 watts. The plug-in hybrid and electric variants come with an inverter outputting 2.3 kW.

Configurations and Powertrains

The Transporter will be available in various configurations, including two-, three-, four-, five-, and six-seat options, as well as panel van and Kombi variants. Customers can choose from diesel, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains. The diesel options range from 108 hp to 168 hp, while the plug-in hybrid offers 230 hp. The electric powertrains come in outputs of 114 hp to 282 hp.
