Xiaomi’s Budget-Friendly SUV: Could It Be a Ferrari Purosangue?

Xiaomi’s New SUV Prototype Spotted

It’s only been a few months since Xiaomi launched its SU7 electric sedan, which has gained popularity in China. Now, the company is working on its next model, with the first prototype of the Xiaomi SUV recently spotted in the wild.

Styling Inspired by SU7 Sedan

  • The new model shares much of its styling with the sleek SU7 sedan.
  • Reports suggest BEV and EREV versions of the SUV could be sold.
  • Xiaomi is expected to unveil its second model in 2025.

The new SUV, known as the MX11, will have a shape and size similar to the Ferrari Purosangue, featuring a mix between a liftback and a conventional SUV design. The prototype showcases a redesigned roof and rear half compared to the sedan, giving it a unique appearance.

Distinctive Design Elements

The front half of the Xiaomi SUV has been slightly lifted, with a higher fascia. The prototype features camouflaged headlights, grilles, and intakes, similar to the SU7. Additionally, a lidar sensor is mounted above the windshield.

From the side, the SUV’s unique shape is evident with taller side windows and a higher tailgate. These design changes aim to increase headroom for rear passengers and enhance luggage space.

Continuation of SU7 Design

At the rear, the Xiaomi SUV prototype features LED taillights and a light bar similar to the SU7 sedan. Technical details about the model remain unknown, but reports suggest it may use a different platform than the SU7 and could support a range-extender option.

Chinese media predicts that Xiaomi’s new SUV will be officially unveiled in 2025, offering consumers another innovative electric vehicle option from the tech giant.
