Zeekr 007: All-Electric Luxury Sedan Enters Production in China
Introduction
Zeekr, a Geely-owned company, has commenced production of its highly anticipated all-electric luxury sedan, the
Zeekr 007, in China. The first customer deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 1, 2024.
Affordable Luxury
The Zeekr 007 marks the brand’s entry into the luxury sedan market. Despite its luxurious features, the vehicle
remains affordable in China, starting at just 229,900 yuan (approximately $32,000). This competitive pricing is
made possible by generous subsidies.
Design and Styling
The Zeekr 007’s design was led by Stefan Sielaff, the head of design at Zeekr and a former designer at Audi and
Bentley. Unlike Zeekr’s previous models, the 001 and X, which resemble Lynk & Co vehicles, the 007 boasts a
more traditional appearance. Notable design elements include thin LED headlights and a customizable full-width
display on the front fascia. The display on the first production model reads ‘The 1st Zeekr 007.’
Color Options
Customers can choose from six available colors for the Zeekr 007: Dawn Brown, Clear Sky Blue, Mist Silver, Misty
Gray, Bright Moon White, and Polar Night Black.
Powertrain Options
The Zeekr 007 offers two powertrain options, both utilizing an 800-volt high-voltage architecture. The
entry-level model features a single electric motor at the rear, delivering 310 kW (415 hp) of power and enabling
a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration in 5.4 seconds. For those seeking more performance, an all-wheel drive model
is available with a combined power output of 475 kW (637 hp), allowing for a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 2.84
seconds.
Zeekr’s Golden Battery
Both variants of the Zeekr 007 come equipped with Zeekr’s innovative Golden Battery. This lithium iron phosphate
pack supports charging speeds of up to 500 kW, enabling a range increase of 500 km (311 miles) in just 15
minutes.
Conclusion
The Zeekr 007 represents Zeekr’s foray into the luxury sedan market, combining affordability with cutting-edge
technology and design. With its production underway in China, customers can soon experience the thrill of owning
an all-electric luxury sedan.
